Highlighting a single country with a territory map

Maply has global coverage. However, sometimes, you may just want your map to highlight a single country by removing all others. While Maply does not support this directly, you can achieve a similar effect by hiding all other countries, ensuring that only your country of interest remains visible. This approach helps maintain a clear focus for your audience.

Here’s how you do it:

  1. Register for a free Maply account if you don’t have one yet.
  2. Log into Maply and go to “My Maps” and add a new map.
  3. Go to your newly added map and add a territory map layer

4. Under select “select territory map…”, choose the option “countries and regions in the world (lite)”. (Be sure to choose the “lite” version, so that the map won’t take too long to load)

5. Download the template from the upload page, change the color to the grey (or any other color you may prefer) for all rows, and deleting the row with the country that you choose to highlight. Then upload the template into Maply.

6. Click on the control panel and turn off borders

7. Done!
